WhatsApp Settings
Configure your WhatsApp Business API connection and message templates.
Manage your WhatsApp Business API connection and message templates from the WhatsApp Settings page.
Open WhatsApp Settings
- Go to Settings → Organization → WhatsApp.
- You'll see options to manage your WhatsApp connection and templates.
Connect WhatsApp
If you haven't connected WhatsApp yet:
- Click Connect WhatsApp or Add Channel.
- Follow the connection wizard to link your WhatsApp Business account.
- You'll need:
- A Meta Business account
- A WhatsApp Business account
- A payment method set up in Meta Business Suite

Manage message templates
WhatsApp requires approved message templates for certain types of messages. Manage them from the WhatsApp settings page.
View templates
- See all your approved WhatsApp templates
- Check template status (approved, pending, rejected)
- Review template usage and expiration dates
Create a template
- Click Create Template or New Template.
- Fill in the template details:
- Name — A unique identifier for your template
- Category — Choose Marketing, Utility, or Authentication
- Language — Select the template language
- Content — Write your message content
- Variables — Add placeholders for dynamic content (for example,
{{1}})
- Submit for approval to Meta.
Note: Template approval can take 24-48 hours. You'll be notified when your template is approved or if changes are needed.

Writing templates that get approved
- Compliance — Make sure templates comply with WhatsApp's Business Policy
- Clear messaging — Keep template messages clear and concise
- Variables — Use variables wisely to personalize messages without creating too many templates
- Regular review — Update templates periodically to keep them relevant
Troubleshooting
Template rejected
Review the rejection reason from Meta, then:
- Make the changes needed to comply with policies
- Resubmit the template for approval
Connection issues
If you can't connect:
- Verify your Meta Business account has the necessary permissions
- Make sure your WhatsApp Business account is active
- Check that a payment method is set up in Meta Business Suite
